MOTIVATION- IS THE INTERNAL CONDITION THAT ACTIVATES BEHAVIOR AND GIVES DIRECTION; ENERGIZES AND DIRECTS GOAL ORIENTED BEHAVIOR. (WWW.WIKIPEDIA.COM)
WHEN YOU WANT THINGS TO HAPPEN THE ABILITY TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF IS A CURCIAL SKILL. MOTIVATION REQUIRES A BALANCE OF COMMUNICATION, STRUCTURE AND INCENTIVES. HERE ARE TWENTY WAYS TO HELP MOTIVATE YOURSELF AND OTHERS EITHER IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE OR IN THE WORK PLACE.
  1. CONSEQUENCES- IF YOU USE THREATS IT WILL TURN PEOPLE AGINST YOU. MAKING PEOPLE AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES WILL MAKE AN IMPACT. THERE IS A WAY YOU CAN TELL SOMEONE SOMETHING NICELY. IF YOU CAN'T GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER HOW WILL YOU EVER GET WHAT YOU WANT?
  2. PLEASURE- PROVIDING PEOPLE WITH PLEASURABLE REWARDS CREATES EAGER AND PRODUCTIVE PEOPLE.
  3. PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES- APPEAL TO PEOPLE'S SELFISH NATURE. GIVE THEM A OPPRATUNITY TO EARN MORE FOR THEMSELVES BY EARNING MORE FOR YOU.
  4. DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS- IF YOU WANT SPECIFIC RESULTS, GIVE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS. PEOPLE TEND TO WORK BETTER WHEN THEY KNOW WHAT IS EXPECTED.

  6. KINDNESS- GET PEOPLE ON YOUR SIDE AND THEY WILL WANT TO HELP YOU. TICK THEM OFF AND THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO SCREW YOU OVER!
  7. DEADLINES- MANY PEOPLE ARE MOST PRODUCTIVE BEFORE A BIG DEADLINE. THEY ALSO HAVE A HARD TIME FOCUSING WHEN A DEADLINE IS LOOMING OVERHEAD.
  8. TEAM SPIRIT- CREATE A ENVIORMENT OF CAMARADEIRE. PEOPLE WORK HARDER WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE PART OF A TEAM. THEY DON'T WANT TO LET OTHERS DOWN.
  9. RECOGNIZE ACHEVEMENTS- TRY TO MAKE A POINT TO RECOGNIZE ACHEVEMENTS ONE ON ONE AND IN GROUPS, PEOPLE WANT TO FEEL LIKE THEY ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.
  10. PERSONAL STEAK- THINK ABOUT THE PERSONAL STEAK OF OTHERS. WHAT DO THEY NEED?? BY DOING THIS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP THEM PREDOCTIVE AND HAPPY.
  11. CONCENTRATE ON OUTCOMES- NO ONE LIKES TO WORK WITHOUT SOMEONE STANDING OVER THEIR SHOULDER. MAKE WHAT YOU WANT VERY CLEAR.
  12. TRUST AND RESPECT- GIVE PEOPLE THE TRUST AND RESPECT THEY DESERVE AND THEY WILL RESPOND TO REQUEST MUCH MORE FAVORABLY.
  13. CREATE CHALLENGES- PEOPLE LIKE WHEN THEY ARE PROGRESSING TOWARDS A GOAL. GIVE THEM THE OPPRITUNITY TO FACE MORE DIFFICULT PROBLEMS AND THEY WILL BE MORE ENTHUSIASTIC.
  14. LET PEOPLE BE CREATIVE- DON'T EXPECT PEOPLE TO DO THINGS YOUR WAY. ALLOWING PEOPLE TO CREATE NEW IDEAS CREATES A MORE OPTIMISTIC ENVIORNMENT.
  15. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM- OFTEN PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE WHAT THEY ARE DOING WRONG UNTIL YOU TELL THEM. MOST PEOPLE WANT TO IMPROVE.
  16. DEMAND IMPROVEMENT- DON'T LET PEOPLE STAGNATE. EACH TIME SOMEONE ADVANCES RAISE THE BAR.
  17. MAKE IT FUN- WORK IS MORE ENJOYABLE WHEN IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE WORK. LET PEOPLE HAVE FUN IN A POSITIVE ENVIORNMENT.
  18. CREATE OPPRITUNITIES- GIVE PEOPLE THE OPPRITUNITY TO ADVANCE. LET THEM KNOW HARD WORK WILL PAY OFF.
  19. COMMUNICATION- KEEP THE COMMUNICATION CHANNELS OPEN. BY BEING AWARE OF POTENTIAL PROBLEMS YOU CAN FIX THEM BEFORE THE PROBLEM GETS BIGGER.
  20. MAKE IT STIMULATING- MIX IT UP. DON'T ASK PEOPLE TO DO THE SAME TASK OVER AND OVER.
